I have read and agreed to....
Hello Earthlings that are users of the internet....just kidding.
I wanted to speak to everyone about a HUGE issue that mostly everyone does.
One of the biggest thing that everyone does would be clicking the button that says : I have read and agreed to the ... or the terms to. We all know that we havent’t read them, and we all know that we don’t care about them.....So why do they (they being the software designs) put that box? I read online that a survey shows that just 7% of people read the full terms when buying a product or service online, while a fifth say they have suffered from not doing so (Guardian). Personally, I’m one of those people that don’t bother reading it, and has yet to suffer from the consequences...but you know what they say: Karma’s a beach.
Now, I know it’s a pain to read that little box that has hundreds and hundreds and thousands of words, all written in font 10, and it’s just frustatring. But, clicking the ‘I have read and agreed to the terms of....’ is just like signing a contract when you're at an office. You could be selling your soul for all you know....well, maybe not your soul, but you know what I mean. Those tiny-hard-to-read-words will explain everything that happens when you agree to the terms, and what will happen if something were to happen, or if someone were to copyright, they have laws and specific rules that resolve those issues, or that you could be charged extra fees. We wouldn't want that to happen, because as we all know, we love having extra money to spend, not to pay some extra fees that you never knew about.
Well, I hope you remember that when that box for 'I agree to the terms and stuff to..', most of the times, it could be REALLY important.
Till next time, Batoul :)

I'd like to say that I am one of those people who completely ignore what is writen in the box and just click the agree button. In my defense though I do read I'd say about two or three sentences and then give up. My reason for doing so is that I find those terms to be so repetative and nothing bad has ever happened to me because I didn't read it therefore I rather not waste my time. This however has become a bad habit since now even when it comes to signing a contract or anything of that sort I don't have the patience or interest in reading it. Maybe karma will soon enough come around and be a "beach" to me.
I must confess that i NEVER read one of the many terms and agreements that I hade checked the box, I have read and agreed to the terms and agreements... Although I have not suffered to this bad habit yet. The problem is that this can completly take away my freedom... yet, this is still a problem but I cannot promise i will read those terms. They're just too boring.
I agree with everyone's comments, I have NEVER read the terms & agreements of anything (not even the first sentence). I have terrible luck though, so I feel like one day it's going to catch up to me and my laptop is going to explode from a million viruses or something. I'm really hoping karma doesn't catch up to me though, haven't these people ever heard of "short and sweet" and "getting to the point"? I think they do it on purpose, they know we won't read them so they hide little disclaimers, which will eventually screw us over.
